The blogger compared the quality of the graphics in the Cyberpunk 2077 when using DLSS 3 and DLSS 3.5

The long -awaited update 2 came out yesterday.0 for Cyberpunk 2077. And all this is good, but we have a slightly different reason to look at the game today: along with the update, the new DLSS 3 technology has appeared.5 from NVIDIA.

On the Elanalistadebits YouTube channel, they decided to check the work of a new function, having carried out a number of image quality comparisons to find out how much DLSS 3.5 is really different from other technologies and how it affects performance. The blogger compared the performance of DLSS 3 and DLSS 3.5 with maximum settings in Ray Tracing: Overdrive.

  • In the DLSS 3 version.5 There was a new ray reconstruction technology (Ray Reconstruction)
  • Ray reconstruction works as denusing, improving global lighting and increasing the resolution of reflections and shadows.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 with RT Overdrive is one of the first games in which this new function is fully used. The difference is significant, especially in dark areas and reflection with high detail.
  • Ray reconstruction also increases the performance of games using RT. In the case of Cyberpunk 2077, I discovered areas with an increase of 3 to 8 frames per second.
  • In the second part of the video, you can see a comparison of turning on and off the reconstruction of rays.

As shown in the video, we observed a small increase in performance when using DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction. Recall that at present it is available only with the RT Overdrive, so the frame rate is lower than it could be using less demanding effects of ray trace. Undoubtedly, this is a very impressive innovation from Nvidia, which has huge potential. We saw many examples when Ray Reconstructions provided a fairly significant increase in clarity and detail compared to traditional noise reduction technologies, and also worked a little better than traditional denunciations.

However, this technology is not ideal: in some scenes there were problems with the flicker and instability of the image, especially when working with small details and moving volumetric effects or particle effects. However, the positive aspects significantly outweigh negative. But the restriction of the new technology only by the RT Overdrive mode greatly narrows the circle of users of the RTX system-despite the fact that it is officially supported, the RT Overdrive mode is really necessary for a high-class graphic processor of the 30th or 40th series, as it is very demanding.

Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 has already reached PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S.
